Business Requirements - Sandstone Services were engaged to conduct an independent review of a business transformation project which had the following fundamental issues:
- The solution was incomplete and did not adequately reflect the requirements of the business
- The business had not been prepared for the business change
- The client's business processes varied across all business units and across regions within business units, the solution has not been designed to accommodate common processes
- Without process alignment the solution could not be successfully deployed and could not realise the benefits envisaged
Role and Approach - Sandstone Services re-base lined the project with the objective of:
- Establishing common processes across the business as envisaged by the initial business case
- Addressing gaps in the solution
- Improve the readiness of the business to adopt the proposed process and system changes
- Instituting an accountable and effective governance structure
- The development of a robust business case
In resetting the project it was critical to ensure as much of the investment made to date was preserved, addressing issues and implement a solution which met the requirements of the business.
